- Roosevelt Powell, P.E.
- Mr. Powell is Director of R. Powell &
Associates, which provides engineering and business consulting services
to a variety of businesses. He is a licensed Professional Engineer with
over 30 years of experience in engineering and business activities. Mr.
Powell received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute
of Technology and his Master of Business Administration from the University
of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.
- Mr. Powell began his career as a mechanical
design engineer for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater
Chicago (MWRDGC). He held several engineering and operating positions gaining
extensive experience in the design and operation of water reclamation facilities.
- Mr. Powell formerly held upper management
responsibilities for various staff and operating areas at Northern Illinois
Gas. He has extensive experience in analyzing, developing, and designing performance
improvement projects for areas such as, natural gas distribution system operations,
natural gas transmission system operations and gas storage.
- Mr. Powell has participated in utility
management audits, normally focusing on system planning, design and operating
activities. He has also designed major natural gas transmission and distribution
facilities for various clients. As Director of R. Powell & Associates
(RPA), Mr. Powell is involved in every aspect of a project from the preliminary
plan phase through quality assurance of the finished product.
- Mr. Powell has been involved in the design
of mechanical and electrical facilities at various facilities, including Atlanta's
Hartsfield International Airport. He has been involved in the selection of
key administrator level engineering and technical personnel for the Metropolitan
Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. He has also prepared competitive
examinations for various engineering and technical positions at the Metropolitan
Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and Cook County in Illinois.
- Harold Smith, P.E.
- Mr. Smith received his B.S. in Civil Engineering
from the Chicago Technical College and has taken several courses at Chicago
City Colleges for Supervisory Training, Business Writing, Intergovernmental
Executive and Development Program.
- Mr. Smith began his career as a assistant
civil engineer with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago
(MWRDGC) and held various positions in engineering, finance and management
during a 28 year career at MWRDGC. During his career he had responsibility
for designing wastewater treatment and collection facilities local sewers
construction and cost estimates for design projects.
- Mr. Smith also held the position of Engineering
Assistant for Commonwealth Edison Company and was responsible for all new
underground cable duct systems.
- Mr. Smith has been a Instructor at Illinois
Institute of Technology for the Civil Engineering portion of the Preparation
for the Professional Engineers Examination. Mr. Smith has also completed
numerous independent engineering consultant projects within the Illinois,
North Carolina and Indiana areas. He has designed natural gas pipeline facilities;
water reclamation, wastewater collection and storm water collection facilities;
street improvement projects; and commercial building civil, mechanical and
electrical facilities.
- Richard Krawczyk, P.E.
- Mr. Krawczyk is a Project Engineer for R.
Powell & Associates, Inc. He began his career as a System Engineer with
Sargent & Lundy Engineers and held various positions during a 10-year
career at Sargent & Lundy. During his career he was responsible for stress
analysis, management, communication and development.
- Mr. Krawczyk held the position of Senior
Staff Engineer with Commonwealth Edison Company and had responsibility for
the technical support for daily activities performed within a complex plant
environment.
- As a consultant, Mr. Krawczyk has been
responsible for mechanical analysis, direct client interface and design
of various mechanical and electrical facilities, which include the Effingham
County Power Plant and Eastern North Carolina Natural Gas Pipeline Projects.
- Steve Maji, P.E.
- Mr. Maji is a Registered Professional Engineer
with 40 years experience in the natural gas industry. He has a broad range
of experience in the gas distribution sector including; business and technical
consultant, engineer, manager and director. Following his work with Peoples
Natural Gas, he was active with EnerGroup, Inc. providing distribution system
engineering and analysis to the utility services business area; GDT Engineering,
Inc., a gas utility consulting company; as well as third party associate staff
assignments with RMI as a consultant to the gas industry.
- Mr. Maji has been
responsible for piping system design and analysis, class location studies and design
of various mechanical and electrical facilities, which include those at the Effingham
County Power Plant and Eastern North Carolina Natural Gas Pipeline Projects.
- Mr. Maji testified in a municipal natural gas
condemnation hearing in regards to his developed valuation of a gas system based
on replacement cost and depreciated replacement cost methods.
- Kevin Champion
- Mr. Champion is an Electrical Engineer for
RPA. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute
of Technology and a B.A. in Applied Physics from Morehouse College. He began
his career as a Laboratory Assistant for Motorola and later held the position
of Engineer with Lucent Technologies.
- As a Lucent Technologies Engineer, Mr. Champion
was responsible for customer contact and project management for various intra-state
communication projects. He was also involved in assessing organizational performance
and quality on various projects.
- As a consultant, Mr. Champion has been responsible
for analysis, design and direct client interface for various electrical power
and communications projects including: MARTA Wash water Recycle System, Georgia
Department of Juvenile Justice at Athens and Augusta, Georgia Tech Golf Team
facility and Autaugaville Natural Gas System cathodic protection and Effingham
Power Plant SCADA system.
- Jarrett White
- Mr. White is a Mechanical Engineer for R.
Powell & Associates, Inc. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from
the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in General Science from morehouse
College.
- Mr. White has performed various internships;
at General Motors he designed car components, created 3-D renderings for
build book using Unigraphics. He also constructed benchmarking database,
tested and used weld gun. During his internship with Texaco he created a
compiled database using PROBE, COSSEY and WOOD MAKENZIE databases, to be
used as an efficiency tool for department engineers. In addition, delivered
detailed presentations on the use, importance and effectiveness of this
database.
- Mr. White has been responsible for the
detailed assembly of components associated with natural gas transmission
and distribution systems. He has direct input into designing and specifying
components and preparation of material list. He has worked on major natural
gas facility designs involving metering and pressure regulating stations
.
- Alisa Powell
- Ms. Powell served as Administrative Assistant
for the National Office of the American Association of Blacks in Energy
(AABE). She has extensive experience in information access and data collection
for private and public organizations. She was responsible for collecting,
analyzing and organizing data for many of the projects undertaken by AABE.
She is familiar with the various government agencies data bases and their
content.
- In addition, Ms Powell has held responsible
position for Financial Innovations in Georgia and Jones Construction and
Maintenance Company in Washington D.C. She was responsible for customer
servicing, accounting and marketing activities.
- Ms. Powell currently operates her own organization
offering experienced in data collection, data analysis, database management
and business administration. She has over 12 years of experience and training
in office management services, and in use of various business software packages
such as FoxPro, FileMaker Pro, MS Word, WordPerfect, PowerPoints, PageMaker,
QuickBooks Pro, MS Excel, and the Construction Criteria Base. She also has
special experience in engineering specifications and professional support
services. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she will be
responsible for providing necessary clerical support for report and document
preparation.
